Monday morning we met in the McLean Centre for a meeting. As we gathered in our talking circle formation Aaron, a fellow staff member, heard a big plane flying low. He told us that he and his wife, Ashley, were expecting a friend of theirs from Search and Rescue to fly by and drop off a package.
Well, this turned out to be quite the ordeal; so cool, so fun, and probably so very expensive. We all ran out into the field to watch this all go down. With many roof tops, trees and all of our heads to consider when dropping something from the sky, the plane made many practice rounds overhead. Well, either they were practicing, or they were marking coordinates...we're not quite sure. They would drop different colored ribbons every time it would fly over. Eventually, after dropping about five they made their final drop.
We all cheered with enthusiasm! Aaron opened and shared the well wrapped box that was filled with snacks and sandwiches. What a fun experience. Thank you Seach and Rescue Squadron 442 for the live entertainment.
