Is it possible that Annabelle has intuitively picked up on Steinar and my love languages?
Annabelle specifically interacts with Steinar and I quite differently; she comes to us individually for different purposes. That seems natural, however, I have started to notice that she seems to express affection differently too.
My love language is touch. Steinar's is words.
With Steinar she gets extremely excited when she sees him or hears his voice. She pipes up full volume, "HI" HELLO! HI! HI! HI! HI! HELLO!!" When he comes home from work she comes running to the door to greet him with hellos. When he leaves home she runs to the door to eagerly wave her hand at him to express her farewell. She loves to talk to him on the phone. The second the phone rings she thinks its him and starts saying, "HI! HI DADDY! HI! HI!" If she could, it seems like she would talk to him all day.
With me, Annabelle dishes out hugs all day long. She holds my hand while she eats. She holds my hand while she walks down the street. She pats my back when we hug and takes my hand to place it on her cheeks gently. She nestles up to me every chance she gets. If she ever sees bare skin of mine: a leg, my pregnant tummy, my arms, etc..., she will stroke it and press her cheek against it. If she could, it seems like she would cuddle with me all day.
What a little lover we have on our hands. She's so great at sharing her love with us. It's such a blessing I could have never anticipated with having a child.

Oh you make my heart just beam. I am smiling from ear to ear. What a delightful little girl you have. Such a perfect mix of you and your husband. That phrase "your children will rise up to bless you" came to mind when i read this blog entry. Hmmm so precious.

This is the best thing I've read in a long time. What a lovely story, Heidi. I just love coming and reading about your family here. You have an amazing way of sharing stories on all of those small things that add up to being so meaningful. So many times these things often go unnoticed, so every time I come here I'm reminded to stop and take moment to appreciate those hidden moments that I'd otherwise pass by in a hurry.
I'll keep practicing for now, but maybe motherhood will help me along one of these days. :)
Children are very intuitive...they haven't "learned" to mask and monitor their thoughts and feelings. So I'm not at all surprised that she's picked up on the fact that Steiner keys into auditory stimuli and yours are kinesthetic. After all...she knows how to get what she wants LOL. Love you guys.
