As Annabelle begins to develop language skills the race is on for us proud parents. Which language will she speak first? How many words can she say in English and how many are in Norwegian. So far, English takes the lead!
English Norsk
- hi - hei
- hello - mamma
- mum - ha det
- dadda - ja
- daddy - "oi"
- dog - takk
- hot - bæ
-"uh-oh"
- baa (sheep sound)
- "who" (owl sound)
- " e-i-e-i-o"
On a side note, she has many non-verbal ways of communicating as well! For example: pointing and tapping with her finger in front of her on the table means "Put that food here now!"; licking and smaking her lips means "Mmm, that looks good. Can I have some?"; with her hand in a fist, she throws her arm under her chin which is her way of strongly saying no; waving meaning goodbye; banging her head on things or banging her fists into her head to show us that she did not like being told "no"; sheepishly looking over her should at her daddy means, "I'm ready for you to chase me"; dancing to the music as an expression of her LOVE for music.

Annabelle, what a sweet dear girl you are. I am just picturing you taking and communicating with your body langauge and it is making me smile... esspecially the one where you tap your finger on the table. Sooo cute!
At the moment Amelia loves to say:
"kittycat", "dadda", "ball", "mamma", and "bu" (which means bunny)
she shakes her head "no", signs for "more", "finished", "milk", "thank you"... waves bye, and also loves to move her body to music.
